Advance aldermen accept bid to sell old lagoon property

The Advance Board of Aldermen met on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 with all members present--Carol Blanton, Tom Schmidt, Wayne Page, and Randy Schrader. Two bids were submitted on the old lagoon land in the west section of town on Highway C--$15,444 from James Burnett and $24,500 from Chris Eggiman. Aldermen accepted Eggiman's bid. Biologists seek answers to death of 33 pilot whales off Florida coast

The ocean holds many mysteries, but one of the most puzzling involves the unexplained death of 33 pilot whales, who swam into shallow coves in southern Florida last week. STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. - The Dexter high school wrestling team placed fifth at the SEMO Conference wrestling tournament Saturday in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. Jackson finished with 394 points to easily outdistance runner-up Farmington, which finished at 311. Host Ste. Genevieve finished at 244 and was followed by Sikeston (163.5), Dexter (150.5), Poplar Bluff (147), Windsor (108), Notre Dame (84), New Madrid County Central (78.5), Cape Girardeau Central (60.5) and North County (60.0)...
