Train with P & P!

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people that will join a gym pay their dues show up loyally for a few weeks then drop into the abyss. Quite often you will see them walk in with a glazed look on their face hit a few exercises walk on a treademill and whoosh they are gone. For the most part when people do something they have a PLAN in mind and a PURPOSE for doing it, the P&P. Training should be the same way. So do you design the plan first then have purpose or is it the other way around?

Personally you train with a purpose and a plan to get there. To all of you that have read my column in the newspaper and my blogs I have preached countless times of training different body parts on different days with rest in between and cardio. That is only a part of it, you need to know what your purpose is for training. Is it weight loss? Is it to attract that new guy or gal in the office? Is it cause the Dr. got your results laughed heartily and said 50/50? But serioulsy you have to have a purpose. FIND IT! GOT IT? Good now you set your plan into place.

Based upon your purpose will determine the type of exercises you will perform for each bodypart. IF you have decided to embark on your program from home then you need to either spend time on line on the countless number of fitness sites or pick up some magazines and read! You should be able to find a program that fits your purpose. If you are joining a gym sit with a certified personal traininer explain your purpose, any medical conditions that might interfere with your purpose and have him or her develop your program.

Now that you have your Purpose and your Plan act on it! Whether at home or at the gym eliminate distractions and focus on what you are doing. It's not social hour at the gym and it is not little Johnny or Susies time it is your time to train and execute your P&P!

An update on Nicole's progress, she has dropped 4% bodyfat in 2 weeks and is looking outstanding. Her performance shoes have arrived (4" clear heels) and she practices about 30 to 45 minuts in her shoes the 4 mandatory poses and walking. To all of you that have expressed support and well wishes thank you.
