Death Penalty

Posted Friday, October 23, 2009, at 12:40 AM

Ok! Time to drop the gloves!!(hockey lingo for those of you who may not know). How can anyone watch the news reports about the little girl in Florida and say that the person who did that does not deserve to die!!

If ever it was warranted, it is in the case of those who hurt children! You make the choice to take someones child , use them for your own sick and twisted self gratification and want to beg mercy from others!!

I know as a Christian that I am to forgive, turn the other cheek and all the other Biblical cliche's used to keep Christians subdued. However there must be punishment enough to deter certain actions and to insure that the rest of society can live relatively safer lives. All without having us to support the sick individual that would do this for the rest of their lives.

Choices lead to consequences! You don't want to be put to death then don't CHOOSE to willingly and purposely kill another human being!! Seems simple enough to me!

I will pray for this person's soul and that they may receive forgiveness from God for what they have done but they deserve to die!!!

I wonder how many of the people who are offended by this are actually pro-abortion?!? Can you say HYPOCRISY!!

I just discovered your blog this morning. Could you introduce yourself to us - i.e. where did you grow up, what do you do, family? How did you land here at the Statesman? Good luck with this new adventure!

Thank you for the well wishes cheers!! I have been pondering what to write in response because 1)I was worried about giving out too much info and 2) I didn't want to bore you to death already 3) I really didn't think anyone would care.

Aaanyway, since you asked I will give some info.

I am a yankee born and bred. I came here to look after and help my parents since they did such a great job of taking care of me for so long. (Love you Mom and Dad!!)

I do have a wife and children(1 daughter, 3 sons the youngest being twins).

As for how I got to the Statesman I would have to say an act of God. You see Mr. Corey Noles happen to ask the director of the FGBC Bloomfield's VBS "is there anything I can do?".

As God would have it we needing another actor for the skit that we do before each night begins so he was recruited (shanghaied may be more accurate). He did great and we had a great time!

His new name at church by the way is "Walking Stick" (his character) so be sure to call him that if yo see him!! He LOVES it!!

He must have wanted payback because when he said he needed help I agreed and voila!! I became a blogger. I decided to do what comes natural and anyone who knows me knows I can get pretty wound up on things from the important to the mundane.

I hope this is what you were looking for and I hope you enjoy the blog. I am far from a professional writer so if it stinks blame Corey!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I always find the "human interest" side of a story the most interesting,so that is why I asked you to share your story. You sound like a very good son, a proud husband and father, and a welcome addition to the Statesman. Good luck, I look forward to following your blog.

hello roy i did not ask for your bio,but i too enjoy knowing a little about someone when i am reading there blog,

about your story,i feel just the same way i think death would be to easy, somekind of torture is how i feel, but the part of the story that really shocked me was the "100 SEX OFFENDERS" within 5 miles around where the little girl lived.

WHAT IS UP WITH THESE FREAKS OF NATURE that find it exciting to have sex with a little child and than kill them.i hope i never feel the way her mother is feeling right now,and i hope when they find the person that the people in prison who come in contact with this person take care of it in a slow and painful way.

Revelation 3:14-19 If you were to read these verses you would find the foundation for this blog and have an understanding of the essence of me. I am a Christian! I am not ashamed or embarrassed to be so, nor will my obvious faults keep me from proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Every "rant" in this blog will have this fact at it's base. This in no way should be taken as me believing that I am right all the time. May I always be ready to accept the lessons that come only from being wrong! However I will be either hot or cold! May the Lord Jesus not find me to be lukewarm.
