Council governs yard sale signs
At the request of the Missouri Department of Transportation at Monday night's meeting of the Bloomfield Board of Aldermen, the board passed an ordinance that would govern the placement of yard sale signs.
Following a recent decision by MoDOT to no longer allow them on their signs, the city decided to no longer allow them on city signs as well.
Technically, the ordinance prohibits the placing of signs on MoDOT owned signs, City of Bloomfield owned signs and utility poles.
It does, however, still allow for signs to be on right of ways and along roads as long as it is on its own post.
It also requires that all signs be removed within 24 hours of the yard sale.
