Aldermen purchase another generator
The Monday meeting of the Bloomfield Board of Aldermen resulted in the purchase of another generator for the city.
Since the earlier generators were purchased before the new City Hall, another is needed to ensure that all of the city's buildings are ready for winter weather.
The board approved $6,000 for the purchase of a 60Kw generator and trailer that will likely be used to power the fire department and library, moving the 30Kw currently in place to the police station.
Alderman Tom Bischof was the only alderman to vote against the measure. He said he didn't believe it was necessary since several had already been purchased and such a purchase is not in the year's budget.
