City to begin selling fire tags

Posted Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 8:09 AM

The City of Bloomfield recently announced that it would begin selling fire tags to out of town residents.

Currently, if an out-of-town resident has a fire and the department is called out, a charge is incurred.

Residential rates for the tags will be $50 per year for the first and adjoining property. An additional $30 will be charged for a second property. Each additional property after that will be $20.

Commercial and rental property rates will be $70 for the first property and $30 for each additional.

At this time, letters are being mailed out to residents giving more details on the tags.
