Will April be the flood month this year?

Posted Sunday, April 11, 2010, at 7:57 AM

This is a photo of the Greenbrier Assembly of God Church on March 18, 2008. Greenbrier is about five miles east of Advance on the Castor River. The rain began early on Tuesday, March 17, and continued for 24 hours, dropping 13-14 inches of precipitation on the area. Weather experts labeled it a 100-year event, for which the area was totally unprepared.
April showers usher in flood fears.

As the Mississippi River rises, nervous residents watch the skies and pray for this to be a year without floods. Though March and April are always known as the rainy season, the area was totally unprepared for March 18, 2008, the day of a 13-14 inch torrent in a 24-hour period. For a brief time, Advance found itself cut off from the outside world.

Here are the events scheduled for April - provided the floods don't interrupt them!

Here I go being picky again, but isn't Greenbrier west of Advance?? Sorry.

Yep, you're right. And that's not picky! I wonder where Maddie's brain was tonight?? This must have been a picky story to do, what with all those names and lines and having to highlight some of the lettering. Shame on her for not knowing east from west!

Madeline is a very close friend of mine, so I can say that.... Just teasing, of course!

Thank you gl, makes a lot of sense, I hear so many disparaging comments from others, I should have know you were teasing. Now I can have a good day. Friends are friends forever someone once said.
