This Monday, August 2, 2010 photo of the new Cross Trails Medical/Dental Center in Advance shows the progress that Wesbecher Construction is making toward an October opening. The concrete work for the driveway and sidewalks is just visible to the left.
Events in our town are as follows: Thursday, Aug. 5, 6 p.m. - Advance Senior Community Center Board of Directors - Senior center building on C and Poplar. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 7 p.m. - Advance Community Library Board of Directors - Library facility in old R-IV Administration Building on Highway C next to old gym. Thursday, Aug. 12, 7 p.m. - Advance R-IV School Board - New offices of superintendent - New high school annex wing. Monday, Aug. 16, 6 p.m. - Advance Board of Aldermen - City Hall, Gabriel Street, across from new Cross Trails. Monday, Aug. 23, 6:30 p.m. - Stoddard County Historical Society meeting - Stars & Stripes Museum - Highway 25 in Bloomfield. The photo of the new Cross Trails Clinic is a good example of stimulus money properly used. I don't see how anyone could disagree with that statement - especially when the figures show how under-served Southeast Missouri is in the field of health services.
The citizens of Advance can be proud of the many new happenings occurring as a result of leadership taking every opportunity for community betterment.
