September/October Schedule in Advance

These cox combs, angel trumpets, and Knock Out roses did well this year at the Advance Senior Center, despite very little rain. The zinnias do well anytime, of course - and that cypress vine, which is hitchhiking up the flag pole, will have to be pulled down before it takes over.

* Advance Board of Aldermen meeting - Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 - 6 p.m. City Hall, Gabriel Street

* Stoddard County Historical Society meeting - Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 - 6:30 p.m. - This meeting will be at the Stoddard County Museum, which is located in the old Baptist Church at the corner of Center and Delaware Streets in Bloomfield.

October:

* Advance Community Library Board of Trustees - Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 - 7 p.m. Community Library on Highway C beside the old gym.

* Advance Senior Community Center Board of Trustees - Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 - 6 p.m. - Senior Center

* Advance Board of Education - Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 - Superintendent's office in the new high school on School Street.

* Stoddard County Historical Society meeting - Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 - 6:30 p.m. - Stars & Stripes Museum in Bloomfield.

* Advance Community Library Halloween fundraiser - Saturday, Oct. 30 - time to be announced. Location - library on Highway C.

* Advance United Methodist Women's Fall Bazaar - Friday, Oct. 29 - Saturday, Oct. 30 - Sunday afternoon, Oct. 31 - church basement on Whitwell and Oak Street.
