July is jumping!
Summertime in the Heartland
As the sweltering heat of July presses us all to the sidewalk, life continues in the small town of Advance, Mo., now pop. 1301, according to the latest census. Whoopee, folks, that's 57 more residents than we had in 2000! Hey, it could be worse, ya know! Look at all the towns that have actually decreased--including St. Louis, from what I hear on the grape vine....
Okay, so it's been 101 around here lately, but we now have a cold wave of about 90, so we're really feeling the relief!
And here are the events that we know of in this little North Stoddard County town:
July 1......11:30--senior meal
July 5......7 p.m. library meeting
July 8......11:30-12:00--senior center meal
July 7......6 p.m. senior center board meeting
July 14.....7 p.m. Advance R-IV school board meeting
