Eagles and ButterfliesPosted Friday, November 5, 2010, at 4:24 PM
She wanted to be an eagle but was born a butterfly
Often in prayer she would ask GOD why But GOD never answered why she was what she was GOD seldom explains why He does what He does Unable to cope with life's pressures and strife Butterfly questioned the value of her christian life Tears stream down her face as she watches eagles soar Bitterly disappointed that she herself could not do more She flutters from flower to flower drinking in their nectar Quietly pollinating as they are felt and touched by her But in her tortured mind she thinks that she only takes Never seeing what a difference to others her life makes Eagles are strong and powerful this is very true But eagles cannot minister in the way that you do .....peace..... A Pure Heart ![]() - Archives - Blog RSS feed - Comments RSS feed - Send email to Gordon Greene - Login I have the heart of a poet, the eye of an artist, and dress like a bum. I am no one important. No title, no position, no authority. Just a normal person. But I know Jesus. And Jesus knows me. And this relationship has changed my life and continues to change my life. I have no desire to be known but great desire for others to know Jesus.
I would like to blog about Jesus, christian living, church, hurting, hope. I do not want to lead this blog but follow it wherever it leads.

What a message! No, we can't all be eagles; we just need to minister good in the way God desires us to.
True, we all can't be eagles. Eagles, of course, get the "press".
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
This is the goal. And far too often we fall short of the goal. We love the testimonies and stories of how GOD is greatly using someone and then we look at how little we do.
In my early days as a christian I wanted to be a "heavy brother". This was back in the days of the Jesus Movement in Detroit, Michigan. Heavy brothers understood scripture and a lot of other things. Well, these many years later I achieved my goal of being a heavy brother only not in the way I had in mind. LOL
But in nature animals do not get to decide what they will be when they grow up. A dog cannot become an elephant or a fish a hummingbird. I believe GOD had a purpose and plan for each of our lives. If I am a butterfly there are lives I will touch that eagles cannot.
Micah 6:8 He hath showed thee, O man, what is good...
We see eagles getting attention and all that is around us are flowers no one really notices. But they are beautiful.
...and what doth the Lord require of thee...
The Lord measures our lives not in how high we fly over others but how we touch others in the place where He has placed us.
...but to do justly...
Just do. We don't need more light, insight, power. We do need to just do what we know is right. Often, doing what is right is not doing what is easy.
...love mercy...
We do love mercy received. But is it more blessed to give than receive?
...and walk humbly with thy GOD...
In a world where getting to the top at any cost is the rule instead of exception humility is not usually considered an asset. In the world. But in the kingdom of GOD...
Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
In the eyes of the world a butterfly
Who hovers in the valley below
In the eyes of GOD an eagle
Who helps to make others grow
.....peace.....
