If The Wrong Candidate Wins

He did not seek the spotlight or even politic
He spent his time with the hurt, maimed and sick

How could it be that a write-in could win
Especially one who considers hate and lust sin

He never made a promise that he did not keep
Why is it that he calls his followers sheep

How long will it be before they twist the words he said
And the media spins his truth into lies carefully fed

Will they try to disqualify him from being president
Claiming that he really is not a U.S. resident

What about his claim that to lust is adultery
In this country everyone has this liberty

And what about his view on what is hate crimes
That hate is murder is not keeping with the times

How many days to turn his triumph into defeat
To the darkness the taste of blood is sweet

If on election day the wrong candidate wins
How long will it be before your criticism begins
