Success or Failure

Failure is a stone success a flower
Failure will always be around longer

So enjoy the fragrance, the beauty, the moment
Success allows life the way it is truly meant

But failure comes at the most inopportune times
Phrases that don't fit or a word that rhymes

If only, I wish, I'm sorry, I'm ashamed
Many more as my regrets are named

Almost, nearly, letting it slip away
Tormented by the words we say

Others applaud but we know our heart
Off the stage is when the tears start

The work is great and I am not
This is not the success I sought

In an unnamed brook stones are cast
As we try desperately to forget the past

Just below the surface of where we live
Haunting memories impossible to forgive

Their jagged edges cut to the soul
Impossible that I will ever be whole

The source of this brook is a living well
Allowing me escape from the bonds of hell

Under the Blood truth quietly flows
Whatever this water touches grows

Except for those stones I cast in the brook
They are smaller, smoother when I look

Failure under grace will always transform
Goliath is impressive with weapons and uniform

The enemy that can't be defeated cannot win
When GOD uses our failure to free others from sin

Failure isn't defeat and success is not our goal
GOD loves to make "successful failures" whole
