The Debt
A great debt was owed that I could not repay
On a Cross with three nails Jesus took it away
Sin no longer my master I am finally free
At last living the life GOD intended for me
Things once dreaded are now my delight
As I enjoy this life of walking in the light
But old ways and habits continue to call
No one will notice if you stumble and fall
In a moment of weakness a bad choice is made
Too late I realize that I have been played
Too ashamed to admit and confess my sin
Powerless to resist I do it again
Secret faults and presumptous sin take control
As chains of guilt and pride bind my soul
Lies cover truth as I pretend all is good
But I know in my heart I'm not living as I should
Things I once enjoyed now I dread
Outwardly I live but inside I am dead
Disgusted with myself for living a lie
Finally I go to the Lord and cry
Acknowledging my sin nothing was hid
Confessing to the Lord all that I did
When an honest and open heart begins to pray
Once again grace restores what sin took away
GOD expects perfection not flawlessness
Repentance is a key part of godliness
The forgiveness you receive is the forgiveness you give
Those who learn this truth will abundantly live
.....peace.....
