The 2008-2009 Lady Bearcats show off thier first place trophy from the Farmington Invitational Tournament.
The Dexter Lady Bearcats basketball team is off and running this year! After winning the Farmington Invitational Tournament, the 'Cats posted victories over Senath-Hornersville and the always tough Jackson Lady Indians to run their record to 5-0 and also establish themselves as one of the top teams, if not the premiere 4A team in Southeast Missouri.

Dexter has plenty of senior leadership this year. Maybe too much as the team is overloaded with young ladies playing their last year of elegibility. Another achilles heel would be the depth on the bench. The 'Cats field only seven players. It will be crucial to avoid injuries and foul trouble as the season wears on.

Never the less Coach Chad Allen seems to have his team on the prowl with big goals in mind.

If you would like to see these girls in action (and I would highly reccommend it) the remainder of the schedule is posted.

The Lady 'Cats are now one person deeper on their bench as highly touted freshman Lauren Ward has been added to the varsity roster.

Although this year will be considered an 'experience' year for Ward, Dexter fans (if you don't already know) are going to be thrilled watching her run the offense and no one outhustles her on the defensive end either. Mark it down now..... Future All-Stater!

These ladies are still rolling along. 7-0 after spanking Sikeston 101-19 Thursday night. Great job to all the young ladies and Coach Chad Allen.
