SCAA Tourney on ice!!!

The 84th Annual Stoddard County Activities Association (SCAA) Basketball Tournament has been 'iced' before even starting! Due to the fact that a wintry mix of snow and ice was scheduled to hit Southeast Missouri Monday evening (the same time the tournament was slated to begin) officials pushed the activities back a day...... for now. Bloomfield High School Principal Eric Boles frantically stayed in correspondence with all the participating school officials on Monday trying to establish the best alternative plan to get the tournament played in a timely manner.... like this week. Hats off to Boles for keeping the Daily Statesman in the loop as the saga plays out! You can check out the latest modified varsity bracket here. To view the Junior Varsity bracket, just click here. It may be postponed several days.
84 years?? Wow! That tournament has been around longer than I thought!
I say cancel the JV portion and play it Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Easy for you to say Bon.....the Hornets are 12-0 and would like a shot at winning a few games this week too. Why don't you go and grab another porter and leave the decisions up to Boles and crew. These folks in the peanut gallery amaze me.....
I say put the chains on the bus tires and play the games.
I wish they served beer there and let you smoke cigars.
What a couple of rednecks!! :)
I sit at my computer and laugh at you goat. If you only knew. It's a lot funnier to keep you in the dark though....By the way, is that name calling again. Shame on you.
Libs like GOAT love the double standard Bon.....don't forget that. And watch the news daily to see them on each network as our new leader goes to work spending our money.
gripe, gripe, gripe,,, and on such a beautiful day.
That's the pot calling the kettle black, WOW!! Yet another example Hoon.
Did you call me a black pot Bon?

POTATO SALAD!!!
Folks,
We may have finalized a new plan for getting in our SCAA Basketball Tournament.
I have gotten the EMT on board, as well as the Sheriff's Department. All schools seem willing and able to get this done.
I really have only two obstacles remaining: staff working the tournament (I have inquired about new dates and times for working and I am waiting to see if this is going to be an issue with them), and safety of those attending while parking and walking to/from the gym area. If these two issues get resolved by the end of the day on Tuesday, we are a go to start the tournament on Thursday.
Thursday's game will start at 3:30 (this is one half hour earlier than normal) but I do want to get students and parents out of the gym as early as possible, especially for those who go home to dark, cold homes...and those who still travel on dicey roads.
