Volleyball season winds downPosted Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 4:44 PM
Wow! The SCAA tournament should be a dandy this week with several evenly matched teams. On the varsity side, no surprise that Bell City is the number one seed riding the heels of probable All-Stater Jazzy Johnson. Eight seed and tournament host Richland will have their hands full trying to keep up with the Lady Cubs but the other three first round matchups could and should be closely contested. The big hitters from Dexter will be relying heavily on the sets of Lauren Ward. Bloomfield also comes in as a strong second seed. On the JV side, any of the top four seeds could pull off an upset. Bloomfield is number one and a much awaited showdown with Dexter in the second round is in the works. Co-Captains Taylor Ellsworth and Abby Christian will push the Lady Bearcats hard to revenge a loss to the Wildcats earlier in the season. A Bernie/Advance meeting should be a great game also. This year parity has prevailed and has allowed some great games in the SCAA so get to Richland and watch the tournament if you can. Congratulations to the Bloomfield Lady Wildcats! Varsity and JV champs!
Bell City downed Dexter and will play Bloomfield for the title.
I sure did....they looked pretty good in defeating Dexter. Good luck to all the teams still playing.
Bobby, looks like you forgot about a really good Puxico Indians JV team! Stoddard County always produces great volleyball teams which makes for a great tournament. Good luck to all of the teams!
