On a more personal notePosted Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at 8:37 PM
I just wanted to let those of you who read and participate in my blog know that I will be out Thursday and Friday, so if I don't respond it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you. I'll have my computer, but access will be scarce I'm sure.
My dad is having about a foot of colon removed Thursday morning so I will be up in Troy with him. I'm sure everything will go fine, but my family and I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Thanks to everyone. Corey Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

We will pray for your father, Corey. And don't worry about us; we can take care of things while you're gone. Be safe!
And, oh, yes....I think you should leave me in charge....
Sorry to hear that Corey. Hope everything works out fine. Let us know if you need anything. We can do it. Just call or email.
I was going to say something about leaving gl in charge, but I lost my nerve.
We'll keep you and your dear father in our prayers.
You'll need our prayers if you leave gl in charge.
Thanks again for everyone's kind words. We appreciate it.
I hope everything works out with your father Corey, we will keep you in our prayers...I am sure GL will do a fine job of keeping us in line....God Bless
Thank you for your vote of confidence, Lufer, though Corey seems not to have received my suggestion with the level of serious attention that I feel it deserves - and I.B. has taken the diplomatic (or chicken) way out!
But, Ducky Girl, I hardly expected sarcasm from my partner in crime in the blogisphere! After all the many, many hours we've spent together, supporting our dear Statesman bloggers with our wise contributions to this innovative experiment in technology!
Where is your loyalty??
Never fear, Corey, I am a highly responsible, intelligent woman of the goatherding persuasion, and I have the help of all my .....friends (?) like Ducky, cake lady, and ....well, I'm not sure about I.B.....
We will not abandon your blog while you are helping your father in his time of need.
Prayers to you and your family. A speedy recovery to your Dad.
Don't worry Corey. Goat Lady wouldn't actually try to hijack your blog while you're gone. She'll wait until you're back.
AHA!! I turn my back for one minute, and my fellow bloggers are sabotaging my peaceful takeover of Corey's blog.... Oh, er...sorry, Corey, I meant...my noble effort to maintain your blog until your return!!
As for all those horrible nasty words, I'm sure you know how abhorrent those terrible utterances are to my delicate, sensitive ears!!!
Never fear....your blog is in good hands with me!!
(All right, now, you dirtbag bloggers! Drop and give me fifty!! I'll show ya how a blog oughta be run!! Hup! Hup!)
Anyone heard from Corey?
I haven't, but I plan to check on him today. Bless his heart, I miss him a BUNCH!!! The 'ole Bloggisphere just isn't the same w/o him! It has a big hole in it!! Kinda like the ozone....
I'll let you know what I find out......
GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!
I talked to Corey and he has informed me that "Dad's surgery only lasted about an hour and the doctors say he is doing 'GREAT'."
He will remain in the hospital for about four days, which is standard procedure for that type of operation, But everything is going great.
Wonderful to hear about Corey's dad. We'll keep him in our prayers. Recovery will take a while.
Thanks for keeping us up to date, greer.
Good to hear that Corey's dad is doing well. Thanks for the update!
Get well soon Corey's Dad.
I love these blogs! Everybody can joke, argue, and laugh at each other - and then, something like this happens, and we all pull together for one of our own.
Gosh, darn, I think I'm gonna cry!
Well, I'm home. Dad's surgery went well. They removed a foot of large intestine, but were able to do it laproscopically (sp?) so that should cut the healing time way down. He will hopefully be out of the hospital by Sunday or Monday. They have him up walking around this morning and the pain seems to have cut back considerably.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. They're very important to us.
Corey
I cannot believe what those doctors can do with a laproscope! It doesn't seem possible!
Anyway, let me be the first of your many, many fans to welcome you back home, Corey. You were sorely missed, as you can tell from our daily bemoaning your absense...
Oh Goat Lady, it appears I overslept and missed your entire peaceful takeover attempt of this blog! If only I could have assisted you - I could have been baking "blogcakes" for all the competition! Peace Corey...glad all is well.
Thank you, thank you, cake lady..I certainly could have used your help and your blogcakes...
...although I don't know if any of us would have been left alive when Corey returned.....Your cakes do have a certain reputation....
How is your Dad?
The doctors are reasonably sure there was no cancer, but even if there was they said they are 100-percent confident they got it all.
He is home however and resting in his own bed which has made him at least a lot more happy.
My family and I all appreciate the kind words and prayers everyone sent out.
