Kissing cousins or Why I love election season
There's just been so much great stuff on the political battlefront in recent weeks that I can't contain myself.
That's the best part about election season. Watching the politicians come out of the woodwork and scrambling to defend every decision they've ever made.
Yesterday's news is a perfect illustration. It appears that in doing some research, Lynne Cheney has found a link between the Cheney's and Barack Obama's family. Apparently the Republican vice-president and Democratic Presidential hopeful are like 8th cousins.
I couldn't have made that up if I tried people.
Jay Leno gave Obama a hard time about the new link last night and he said that any new relationship would "have limits."
Nothing would make me happier than to find out that Hillary's great-grandfather was actually a Bush, but I guess we can't hope to get that lucky.
Wouldn't that make for a fun Christmas dinner?

I think the Republican nomination is going to wind up going to Huckabee, which also impresses me. It's nice to see a candidate who was virtually ignored until like 4 weeks ago.
If the election took place today, Huckabee is who I would vote for. I've also liked Fred Thompson for a bit along the way, but I don't know if that's how I would vote. It will be a cold day before I vote for Hillary. Not because she's a woman, but because she givs me the creeps. She's too much of a politician. The whole thing about changing her accent depending on who she's speaking to illustrates that. Obama has more charisma, but that has nothing to do with policy. Out of all the Democrat candidates, he seems to be one of the more genuine. Inexperience isn't always a bad thing.
Basically, what I'm saying is that I don't know yet.
