Thoughts on Super Tuesday...Posted Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 10:02 AM
Well, the votes have been tallied and the poll workers are likely still sleeping it off, but we didn't have too many surprises.
Huckabee taking a few states kind of surprised me, but McCain is and was the clear Republican (?!) frontrunner. Love it or leave it.
The Democrat side is an entirely different ball game however.
Reports just released this morning show that Obama likely took around 20 MORE delegates than Clinton in yesterday's contests. That puts the two within about 70 delegates of each other and still with a long ways to go before we'll know who will be below the donkey on the ballot in November.
Recent polls have shown Obama making a very impressive push past Hillary both nationally and in most states. The majority of the Super Tuesday states polled the day before the election stayed very close to their poll results which is a win for the pollsters if for no one else.
My gut feeling all along has been that Hillary will wind up being the nominee, but after Super Tuesday I'm not so sure.
I'm always very skeptical of the polls and what they say, but this round they were pretty close.
How do you feel about Super Tuesday?
