Hillary, where's your flag pin?

Well, it's almost 10 p.m. and I'm listening to Hillary's victory(?) speech. I understand hanging in there because you owe it to your supporters, but what about what the damage this does to your party?

Hillary, who was not wearing her flag pin this evening (I couldn't resist), is right now giving a speech that from one sentence to the next changes from a victory speech to a concession it seems.

She's spending a lot of time speaking in the past tense and her speech clearly lacks the energy that Obama's had two hours ago.

Obama's victory speech tonight was clearly a move to the next step into the general election.

He took more jabs at McCain and made several kind comments about Hillary in an apparent effort to heal the party's wounds caused by this primary season.

My gut tells me that over the course of the next week, we'll see more and more super delegates begin to come out and endorse Obama in an attempt to wrap up the nomination and begin the chase for November.

While technically tonight's win was not a knockout blow to the Clintons, it was about as close as you can get.

I don't think we will be seeing her bow out just yet, but I do see the day coming.

While mathematically a victory is still possible, the odds are about as bad as my chances of winning the Powerball.

What do you guys think?

All I want to say is I hope Obama doesn't win. In the public eye, he disowns a man that he's looked up to for 20 years?!?! What should that tell us?

I believe she'll be forced out soon. What do you make of her comment that no matter what happens, she'll support the party this fall? I can't picture her accepting a vp offer or campaigning for Obama either one. Mrsdolphin, what Obama's disowning of Wright tells me is that BO is a typical politician. If he truly didn't believe in his pastor's principles, he must have been there to

seem like a brother to the black voters he needed. I can't buy the story that he didn't know what Wright was putting out. The whole process goes on much, much too long, anyway.

I think her comments about supporting whoever the nominee was her beginning to lay the groundwork for a pull out. The fact is, the day is going to come and I think last night was a wake up call to her. I really think that she felt entitled to the nomination and that's why she's not leaving to help unite the party.

Did anyone notice the look on Bill's face during her speech last night. He was beet red and very somber looking. He only smiled when she mentioned his name. That was very clearly 'Unhappy Bill'.

As far as Rev. Wright goes, I really feel like him coming out last week was a deliberate effort to cause Obama trouble. My gut tells me he was upset over the earlier controversy and that was his way of getting back. What kind of friend calls in the National Press Club just so he can make a fool of himself? However, the conference did make for some great footage on both YouTube and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Truthfully, I don't about Wright in regards to Obama's candidacy. Jerry Falwell isn't any better and said most of the same things, just in a much less colorful way. Didn't he blame Sept. 11 on the gays? Coincidentally, that's also what the Westboro Baptist Church blames it on if you happen to know how those people are.
Why should she quit? The dems that say she should quit are basically saying that the people who support Hillary doesn't matter to the party. Hopefully they will vote for McCain.

Jerry Falwell never said g-d America. Falwell never used Blacks in a denigrading way the way Wright said of whites. Black Liberation Theology believes that it's wrong to be racist unless you're black. Wright put a spin on the theology by saying that Jesus was a poor black man done wrong by rich whites (Romans). Homosexuality as well as other sinful behavior brings God's judgement. There's a big difference between a choice of unnatural behavior and the way God created us.

That being said, The Democratic Party plays to demographics of status: race, gender, economic, and education. This race between Obama and Clinton has divided the Democratic Party into race. 90% of Blacks voted for Obama, which means that most blacks are voting for Obama because he's black. Even Christians who happen to be black are voting for and endorsing Obama from church pulpits inspite of his pro-abortion and pro- homosexual rights stands.

In all reality there is no such thing as hyphenated Christianity! That's what I like about Ronnie Webb. He's black but his congregation is of mixed racial background. On the other hand, Wright's United Church of Christ is "unapoligetically black". That is very close to Christian Identity type churches which are unapologetically white. But that brand of Christianity is considered as racist.

That's a thought that has certainly crossed my mind and I imagine the minds of many others. I heard Newt Gingrich make a similar statement the other day. There were pictures of the Clinton's and Wright during their time in the White House circulating around the news agencies a few weeks back. Honestly, I still believe the whole thing boils down to him wanting revenge on Obama for not taking a stand when Wright was getting smashed in the news.
Personally, I see the whole Wright thing as a non-issue.If Barack were elected, there's is very little he, as President, can change without the full approval of Congress.
The races that truly matter for what you believe in are going to be taking place all over very soon...and those are the Congressional races. That's where the true power lies. A President can't even appoint a Judge without Congressional approval.
I'm anxious to see how this all plays out.
Corey, thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you. I'm afraid that the issue of black and white did not become one until Bill made it one. I personally don't care who is black or who is white. I want change and I want big change in our government!

Proverbs 24:21-"meddle not with them that are given to change." I guess it depends on what kind of change you're talking about. The Democratic Party always brings up race. (I'm neither Demo or Repub). I agree with teafortwo though; it doesn't really matter what race a person belongs to. Actually, according to the Institute for Creation Research

race is an evolutionary concept. I bought a book a book from ICR called One Blood- the Biblical Answer to Racism which is very good! I recommend it to everyone. In my opinion racism is a sin which is unexcusable.

I think I should probably just not touch this one.
I don't want Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama for president. I'm not even sure I want Mr. McCain. To me, it is not about a certain party, but rather about character. It is always the same every election year; one candidate tries to outspend the other and tries to defame them. No one ever does anything different. What if they, instead of boosting their own image, would give everything they were going to spend on their campaign to help the less fortunate in one way or the other? What if they would just focus on what they are doing right now and what they have done, instead of making promises that they can't keep? Now that would make it easier on everybody and would determine who was really in it for the greater good. I know I'm dreaming, but it was a nice thought,huh?

It's a wonderful idea, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to see who does it.
swift, I agree about racism but the truth is there is a little of it in each of us. personally I don't think we have any good candidates to vote for and skin color is not a factor of that problem.

Wouldn't it be great if we could look into the future and see what world events would transpire if each presidential candidate would win? For example, I wonder what things would happen if Obama becomes president, or if one of the other two should win the election.

Swift.....don't need powers to see two things that WILL happen if Osama Obama or the old lady get elected.

Your taxes and my taxes WILL go up and America's hands will be reaching out even more so.
