The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce met at The Butterfly Tree this afternoon. They reviewed a brochure created by the FBLA kids at Bloomfield High. It's still not "done" yet, but well on its way. This brochure is being printed at no cost to the businesses listed by the chamber, and will be distributed around the area. Hopefully, it will attract visitors to our fair city.
The chamber also discussed and will lend its support to the proposed nutrition/community center project. Anything that improves the quality of life in Bloomfield will no doubt bring business here as well. And Christmas was discussed. Yes, gentle readers, it is not too soon to be thinking about that holiday. Thus far a holiday tour is being planned for Sunday, Dec. 2. Also under consideration are a beauty pageant, a Christmas parade, photos with Santa and a community Christmas service at the historic Christian church. What would you like to see the chamber do for Christmas this year? New ideas are welcome.
BTW, I tried to post the Idalia story today, but the dialup logged off before I could finish. I'll bring it home and do it here. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Wouldn't it be nice to see horse drawn carriage rides in our little town? I love the historical background of Bloomfield and often try to imagine what life would have been like in those times when the town began. I'm picturing the carriages with sleigh bells. I'm sure that many of the local children have never experienced anything of the sort. Another thought--Christmas Caroling by Carriage Rides??? Something with historical value and loads of fun would be a great addition to the Christmas traditions carried in Bloomfield.
