Sincerely, John
I have too many interests to describe. If I am interested in a topic or something catches my attention, I'll write about it. This includes sports, law enforcement, hobbies, charities, etc. Odds are if it isn't one of those topics, it will be something else!
I have lived in Stoddard County since 1991 after moving from Ste Genevieve Missouri. I currently reside in Bernie, but have also lived in Dexter.
I spend my free time with my two sons, John (9) and Rylan (6), and my girlfriend Courtney. I also have a 15 year old daughter, Olivia.
In my free time I enjoy photography which coincides with my love of cemeteries, doing charity and volunteer work, and running 5K's. I am also a big sports fan (avid St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and San Antonio Spurs). I am a volunteer for the Red Cross and I also participate in the Missouri Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge yearly. Last year I received my amateur radio license (Call Sign: KD0TNU). I also love to write, however lately it seems I don't have much time for it. (This year Myspace wiped out between 200-300 of my blogs).
As a family we love to run, hike, watch movies (we are big Star Wars fans!), and attend concerts. Although we live in Bernie, we call Liberty Hill Church in Aid our second home.
When I am not doing any of the above activities I am the Chief of Police in Essex.

A Rebel Yell in the U.S.A.
Posted Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 12:56 PMOver the past week or so I have seen a growing number of individuals who have their pickup trucks plastered with the Confederate Flag. Sometimes they have more than one flying high on their truck as they "hotrod" around Southeast Missouri in what appears to be an attempt to tell the government, "See me? I know what this flag stand for and I believe in it!", when in fact they probably don't know what they are talking about... -
Ghosts of Baseball
Posted Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 3:54 PMI believe in ghosts, however I am not writing about ghosts with names like Casper and Slimer. I am writing about the Ghosts of Baseball. One can find a connection between a couple teams every year the postseason rolls around, but 2014 may be something special... -
I Am Not A Hero
Posted Friday, September 12, 2014, at 2:43 PMI AM NOT A HERO I cannot really remember a time that I did not want to be a police officer. I remember being 6 or 7 years old and playing "Cops and Robbers" with my brother Matt. Luckily he liked to be the robber as much as I liked to be the good guy... -
A Life Without A Perfect Name
Posted Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 10:59 AMI probably should have said "nickname" which is what I intend on writing about. Nicknames have always amazed me. Over the years there have been hundreds of names given to people which, to what I assume, is done to make it either easier to say their name or because you say their name so much that a nickname makes it less tiring...
