Ever see clouds like these??Posted Thursday, August 4, 2011, at 3:02 PM
This beautiful cloud formation was captured over Dexter last night by Nona Pritchard Robinson, who posted it on Facebook. These are unusual, pouch-like cloud formations, which she labeled "mammatus" clouds. Wikipedia soon confirmed this information. Hooray, Nona for treating us to this marvel of nature!

Up here on the edge of Tornado Alley, we will check the weather radar VERY carefully when we see mammatus....generally a precursor formation to a super cell t'storm, with its' accompaniments!!!! Gorgeous photo, Nona, I just hope you all had the cellar ready to go!!!Regards to all, molater, kkr
Good photo! We had never seen those kind of clouds, so my wife and I both took pictures on our cell phones. They looked like giant marshmallows to me. Thanks for tellings us what kind of cloud formation this was.
Very cool photo, Nona! What kind of camera do you have? I don't know if mine could have done this.
Light show again last night!
