Should I wear my pajamas to Walmart???
It's Sunday morning, and we wake up to another light dusting of snow. I'm wondering why we left the sunny, 92-degree temperatures of southwest Florida.
Looking out the back window, I see a neighbor, sweeping off her deck, clad in a black cap, a heavy gray coat, red gloves, and blue patterned pajama bottoms.
Little does she know I am watching her.
Just days ago, I was shopping with the BFF in Wally World, and a heavy-set gal of about 30 came round me in the same get-up--heavy coat and pajama bottoms.
It seems to be the new norm.
I wonder? What is the fashion etiquette here? Where is it acceptable to wear your pajamas and where is this attire completely inappropriate?
Walmart--obviously yes.
Harp's grocery store--?
Town & Country grocery store--I suspect yes!
Fast food restaurants such as McDonald's--? Does the drive-through option eliminate the need to wear pajamas inside?
The dentist's office--?
The doctor's office--? I remember when a trip to the doctor meant that we had to get dressed up! Does anyone still do that?
I love to wear my fleece pajama bottoms around the house, with my raccoon sweatshirt--but I don't believe I'll ever be desperate enough to wear this comfy outfit to Walmart!
Now...as for the emergency room....That just might be a different matter!
From my snowy cubby hole in an undisclosed urban location, this is your barely suntanned rural reporter Madeline, signing off on a cold winter's day.
