What is fair?

If you haven't seen the story already, I recently did a story on a Dexter man sentenced for incest. He only received a four-year sentence, however, five years was the maximum for the class felony he was charged with.

I'm not going to bother putting my opinion out there, but I'd like to know yours. What do you think would be a fair sentence for such a person? Do you think simply four years in prison is enough, or should something else be done for those who rape or molest children under the age of 14?

The laws have never been changed from the past, when people didn't want to talk about incest. It was a dirty little secret that everyone wanted to pretend didn't happen. And when it was unavoidable that it did come out, the punishment was a petty slap on the wrist because courts didn't want to "further punish the family" by putting a man in prison and depriving his family of his "wages."

The law is outdated and needs to be changed. If you're capable of sexually touching your OWN CHILD, you're capable of anything. And as such, the punishment should be much, much more severe. Anyone who could violate a child deserves life in prison or the death penalty.

Yeah, thats what I am saying I guess. You can execute them, but it doesn't stop it from happening. You still have to kill another one someday. The fear of death does not seem to stop these type of predators. Animals, I think.

LeTruth- you are correct,it happens everywhere in the world. In Iran, they have developed a treatment program with 0%recidivism rate. A bullet right between the eyes has rid them of the baby rapers.

I believe an appropriate sentence would be life in prison, and with the promise of several very affectionate "boyfriends." End of "sentence."

Historically this has happened since forever I guess. No punishment or medical treatment has been able to stop it. It happens in all races, religions, and levels of society. Is four years in prison enough? No, but life will not prevent someone else from committing this crime. Pretty sad isn't it.

What I have to say that should be done I am afraid to print but it has to do with a nail a hammer a stump and a big push backwards, then the electric chair, real slow.
