11 miles of fire

Five fire departments from Stoddard County battled 11 miles of fire on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, sparked by a train passing southbound through the area. Bernie, Bloomfield, Dexter, Dudley, and Essex departments with a force of 50 firefighters, brought the brush fires under control after eight hours.
