Lillie Paralee Wills, daughter of the late Edgar and Ella Stephens VanMatre, was born in McGee on December 17, 1909 and died at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Monday, May 12, 2003, at the age of 93. Mrs. Wills was a retired postal worker and homemaker. She was a member of the Brush Creek Church and a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She was married to Clarence E. Wills on Jan. 2, 1929 in McGee and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1982. Survivors include two sons, Alfred Wills of Patterson and William Wills of McGee; five daughters, Lorene Williams, Wanda Rodgers and Norma VanMatre of Advance, Mary Ellen Hill of Granite City, Ill. and Louise Lafferty of Bloomfield; one sister, Mary Cowlen of Utah; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter; one daughter, Eula James; four brothers; and one grandson, David James. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services will be conducted on Wed., May 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Robert Lafferty officiating. Interment will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery near Arab.
