Everett Carpenter, 88, son of William Henry Carpenter and Cora Montgomery Carpenter, was born Dec. 31, 1914, at Knobel, Ark., and died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter. Mr. Carpenter was married to Marie Brown on Oct. 3, 1936, at Kennett. He had retired from Continental Boiler and Sheet Worker and was owner of Quality Upholstery in Dexter. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Dexter. Survivors include his wife, Marie Carpenter of Dexter; one daughter, Shirley Jacques of Dexter; two sons, Roger Carpenter of Dexter, and Everett Leon Carpenter of Holts Summit; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Euell Carpenter of Dexter; and one sister, Mae Dalton of Campbell. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today, Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Mr. Ben Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
