Wilma Below, 85, of Delta, was born June 8, 1917, at Whitenburg, the daughter of the late William and Jennie Wray Whitener, and died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was a homemaker and was a member of Delta First Baptist Church. She and John Below were united in marriage on Jan. 16, 1945, at Jackson, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1975. Survivors include a son, Johnny Below of Delta; a brother, Harry Whitener of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Betty Whitener of Wright City; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Jennie Sue Crowden, a sister and three brothers preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Delta with Rev. Eric Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Delta.
