William Wiley

William Joseph Wiley, son of the late William and Myrtle Watters Wiley, was born at Victoria on Sept. 21, 1927, and died at the John J. Cochran V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the age of 75. Mr. Wiley had spent most of his life in Stoddard County and had been a resident of rural Puxico since 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In 1955, he was married to Susie Smith. Survivors include his wife Susie Wiley of the home near Puxico; seven sons, William Wiley, James Wiley of Marshall, Ark., John Wiley of Bloomfield, Tom Wiley of Dexter, Howard Wiley of Puxico, Henry Wiley of Lafayette, La., and Mike Wiley of Arkansas; two daughters, Fern Wiley of Sunset, La., and Katy Steven of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Mae Swindell of Dexter; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with military rites at the cemetery.
