Glendale Lee Becking, son of the late Joseph George Becking and Columbia Belle Cook Becking, was born on Dec. 2, 1927, at Bernie and departed this life in the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the age of 75. Mr. Becking had farmed and was owner and operator of Becking Seed and Fertilizer Plant of Bernie until his retirement and was a resident of Bernie. He was united in marriage to Amy Nell Kifer on June 19, 1948, at Piggott, Ark. She preceded her husband in death on Nov. 26, 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Lana Becking and Cindy Becking, both of Bernie; one brother, J.T. Becking of Bernie; one sister, Vivian Summers of Grand Blana, Mich.; two grandchildren, Coby Lee Ayers and his wife Holly of Bernie, and Dustin Kane Neeley of Bernie; and one great-grandchild, Madisyn Ayers of Bernie. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. PAID
