Judy Ward-Blackler, the daughter of Reba Brazel Ward and the late James "Jack" Ward, was born in Dexter on Sept. 18, 1952, and died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff at the age of 50. Mrs. Blackler was a graduate of Dexter High School. She had lived in St. Charles for several years before returning to Dexter in 1996. She worked as a travel agent with V.I.P. Travels in Dexter and was a member of the United Methodist Church. On Sept. 11, 1982, she was married to Bob Blackler at Camp Lewellen Boy Scout Camp near Silva. She is survived by her husband Bob Blackler of Dexter; three daughters, Brandi Jolle Blackler and Vicki Joriane Blackler, both of Dexter, and Kelly Metcalf of Laurie; one son, Skylor Ward Blackler of Dexter; her mother, Reba Ward of Dexter; two brothers, Rick Ward of Chesterfield and Treye Ward of Jackson. She was preceded in death by one son, James Curtis Blackler; one stepson, Chad Robert Blackler; two brothers, Chuck Ward on July 10, 1992, and Shane Ward who died in infancy. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
