Lola Henson

Lola Henson, the daughter of the late Homer and Irene Shepard Lewis, was born in Advance on April 8, 1935, and died at her home in Bloomfield on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at the age of 67. Mrs. Henson had lived in the Bloomfield area all of her life. She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church. On Dec. 20, 1950, she was married to Pete Henson in Bloomfield, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1983. Surviving are three sons, Danny Henson of Aquilla, William Henson of Essex, and Harold Henson of Bloomfield; three daughters, Ruth Bess and Barbara Grim, both of Bloomfield, and Linda McLeary of Zalma; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Lewis of Sikeston, Emmett Lewis of Russell, Ky., Everett Lewis of Texas, and Melvin Lewis of Dexter; and four sisters, Ann Harp and Blanch Sturgons, both of Sikeston, Carolyn Patterson of Aquilla, and Wilma Haley of Charleston. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James Aaron Dean Henson on Sept. 1, 1991, and one grandson. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Bill Bradley of Charleston assisting. Interment followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements. PAID
