"Whitey" White

James "Whitey" White, son of the late James Alvin White and Carrie Bell Fowler White, was born on Nov. 18, 1936, at Winfield, Ala., and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at the age of 66. Mr. White was a member of the Bernie Assembly of God Church, a retired farmer and resident of Bernie. Survivors include one brother, Printess Ray White of Pierceville, Kan.; four sisters, Ruth Canard of McCroy, Ark., Bobbie Mead of Bernie, Patricia Massey of Bowling Green, Ky., and Johnnie Partain of St. Louis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James Dale White, and one brother, Roger Dale White. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Nathan Lamirand officiating. Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
