Rick L. Bostic, son of the late Leonard and Juanita Holford Baker was born at Bloomfield on Feb. 9, 1959 and passed away at his home near Bloomfield on Feb. 6, 2003 at the age of 43. Mr. Bostic was a life-long resident of the Bloomfield community. He was a truck driver and attended Walker General Baptist Church. On April 10, 1999 he was married to Leta Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Leta Bostic, of the home in rural Bloomfield; one son Joseph Bostic, of Bloomfield; two step-children, Monica Simpson, of Dexter and Amy Rudsill, of Morehouse; two brothers, Lester Baker, of Essex and Bill Baker, of Bloomfield; three sisters, Doris Linder, of Salem, IL., Barbara Wilkinson, of Iuaka, IL., and Linda McRoy, of Bloomfield; his adopted father Cecil Bostic of Bloomfield; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his adopted mother Shirley Messer and one sister, Joyce Baker. Visitation was at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Holland officiating. Burial followed in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
