Evelyn L. Irwin, 84, of Perkins, was born Oct. 20, 1918, at Farrenburg, the daughter of the late Walter and Sylvia Lane Lenon, and passed away Jan. 30, 2003, at the Advance Nursing Center. She was the Postmaster at Perkins for 33 years. On Sept. 3, 1933, she and Charles Irwin were united in marriage at Jackson, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1982. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Kay and Hoover Burlison and Jerrie and Bob Berry, all of Perkins; a sister, Margaret Roberts of Tempe, Ariz.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Candyce Burlison of Fredericktown, Lynn and Olivia Burlison of Perkins, and Kristi and Tom Mathis of St. Peters; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Crump officiating. Interment followed in Williams Cemetery in Perkins. PAID
