Kent A. Launius, age 76 of Searcy, Ark., formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. He was born July 6, 1926, in Bloomfield to Dwight Thomas Launius and Elma Ada Aslin Launius. Mr. Launius was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad, a member of First Baptist Church in Searcy, Ark., where he was a deacon, U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II, co-founder of family business K & L Electronics in 1976 which moved to Searcy in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Magee Launius; one son, Larry Launius of Searcy, Ark.; one daughter, Linda Bennett of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Russell Launius of Cape Girardeau and Doy Launius of Moorpark, Calif.; four sisters, Lillian Skelton and Ruth Ann Fritsen, both of Hamilton, Mont., Louise Halstead of Bakersfield, Calif., and Lois Vaughn of Dexter; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Searcy, Ark. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, 411 E. Race Ave., Searcy, Ark. 72143. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Roller-Daniel Chapel. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.
