Lawrence Pflasterer, the son of the late George and Daisy Chappel Pflasterer, was born in Liberty Grove Township, Ill., on April 2, 1934, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Jan. 26, 2003, at the age of 68. Mr. Pflasterer had lived in Tilden, Ill., for many years until moving to Dexter two years ago. He was a retired policeman with the Pinckneyville, Ill., police force. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served for five years. He was a member of the Clairman General Baptist Church in Clairman, Ill., the Game Cock Breeders Association of America, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served for five years. Surviving are three daughters, Jody Scribner of Oklahoma City, Okla., Lavon Pflasterer of Gordonville, Ill. Theresa Pflasterer of Clairman, Ill.; four sons, John Pflasterer of Tilden, Ill., Richard Pflasterer of Durant, Okla., Bryant Pflasterer of Jackson, and Joseph Pflasterer of Slalzar, Okla., ; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Pflasterer of Cabot, Ark., and Jake Pflasterer of Alabama; and one sister, Irene Goodwin of Muskogee, Okla. Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
