Bobby Masters

Bobby G. Masters, 64, the son of the late Jesse and Ethel Sullivan Masters, was born on June 11, 1938, at Portageville and died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Anna Henry Nursing Home in Edwardsville, Ill. He was a maintenance mechanic with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 31 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Wood River congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and a veteran of the U.S. Army. On March 21, 1964, he was married to Evelyn "Wanda" Berrong, at Wood River, Ill., and she survives of the home. Other survivors include one daughter, Carol Bickman of Wood River, Ill.; one son, Michael Masters of Decatur, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy Norman of Advance; one brother, Ray Masters of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Ill. Funeral services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Marks Mortuary with Mr. Tom Geisen officiating. Interment followed at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy with a commital service at 1:30 p.m.
