Deen Esarey

Deen Esarey, the son of Richard Deen and Anna May Barks Esarey, was born in Bernie on Dec. 13, 1921, and died at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at the age of 81. Mr. Esarey had lived in Puxico most of his life. He was a retired livestock and row crop farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WW II. Surviving are one brother, Curtis Esarey of Brighton, Ill.; and one sister, Mary Cato of Puxico. He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Esarey; two sisters, Edna Scowden and Stella Costephens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
