Robert Bolin

Robert Eugene Bolin, the son of Thomas and Emma Allene Vincent Bolin, was born on March 18, 1955, and died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at his home in Kirkland, Ill., at the age of 47. Mr. Bolin was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elgin, Teamster Local #330 in Elgin and Carpenter's Local #790 of Rockford. He was a supervisor with R & D Thiel, a manufacturer of carpenter components in Belvidere, Ill. Mr. Bolin lived at Bernie for 12 years from 1955 to 1967. His father and stepmother still live in Bernie. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Lee. On Jan. 10, 1986, he was married to Dena Schmidt, who survives of the home. Other survivors include three children, Josh, Clint and Jamie Bolin; his father Thomas Bolin and stepmother Mable Bolin; one brother, Calvin Bolin of St. Charles; five sisters, Janie Taylor of Sikeston, Barbara McDonald of Gulfport, Miss., Yvonne Carson of Flagstaff, Ariz., Tina Kirkman and Margaret Simpson, both of Bernie; and two stepsisters, Debrah Norman of Dexter and Sheila Reynods of Flippin, Ark. Visitation was held from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at the Elgin Funeral Chapel, 51 Center Street, Elgin, Ill. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Thomas Niemann of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Memorials may be made in Mr. Bolin's name to St. John's Lutheran Church of Elgin.
