Albertine Ann Martin Fisher died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at the Monticello House in Jackson. She was born May 10, 1918, the daughter of Anna Schonhoff Martin and Albert Martin at Advance. She was a graduate of Advance High School, where she was valedictorian of her high school class, and Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science in elementary education. She married Hubert George Fisher on June 11, 1943, in Glennon. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Dean, her parents and three sisters. Mrs. Fisher is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Ray of Hamilton, Ill., and Patti Caid of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.; two sons, Timothy Fisher and Robert Fisher of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Martin, Catherine Lancour, and Mary Wubker; and one brother, C.A. Martin. Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish where she served on the Parish Council for many years. She was an elementary school teacher for all of her adult life. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at St. Mary Cathedral with the Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Church Cemetery in Glennon. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Grade School or the American Cancer Society.
