Horace Stinson

Horace Abner Stinson, son of the late Lee Stinson and Mary Arterberry Stinson, was born on Dec. 16, 1918, at Bullicktown, Ind., and died in the Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus at Poplar Bluff on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at the age of 83. Mr. Stinson was a former farmer, a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II and a resident of Wappapello. He was united in marriage to Josephine Marie Treadway on March 30, 1946, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Stinson survives of the home in Wappapello. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer Stinson, Loren Stinson, Hollis Stinson and George Stinson; three sisters, Ethel Fortune, Helen Fuwell and Annie Sapp. Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Lambert and Rev. Ricky White officiating. Interment will follow in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery.
