Rev. Stephen E. Miller, Jr., son of the late Stephen E. Miller, Sr. and Maugreete Ruth Williams Miller, was born on Oct. 7, 1921, at Dexter and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the age of 81. Rev. Miller was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, a retired General Baptist minister, a former sales clerk at Ringer Hardware in Dexter, a member of the General Baptist Association and a resident of Dexter. He was united in marriage to Opal M. Duley on July 20, 1972, at Dexter. Mrs. Miller survives of the home in Dexter. Besides his wife, he is survived by two step-sons, John W. Duley and Wayne Duley, both of Dexter; four step-daughters, Jo Ann Gibson and Annis Hughes, both of Dexter, Janis Duley of Branson and Brenda Eubanks of Bloomfield; one brother, Kendall M. Miller of Dexter; two sisters, Bertha M. Miller of Dexter and Eleanor R. Ezell of Upper Marlboro, Md.; 17 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several step-great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Daniel Miller; four sisters, F. Louvisa Miller, Gladys M. Miller, Lucille M. Miller and A. Omega Miller. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
