Charles Croy

Charles Lester Croy, son of the late Ross and Allie McKinney Croy, was born on July 26, 1923, near Advance, and died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Casseville Nursing Home in Casseville, Ill., at the age of 79. Surviving are his wife Elsie of Cahokia, Ill; one son, Joe of Collinsville, Ill.; one daughter, Patricia Ann Weber of Belleville, Ill.; one grandson; one great-grandson; three brothers, Arvil Croy of Bloomfield; Ross Croy of Dupo, Ill., and Bertis Croy of Jackson; five sisters, Helen Rainey of Advance, Emma Cook of Fairview Heights, Ill., Annalee Cates of Dexter, Shelby Matthews of St. Louis, and Bonnie Johns of Advance. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Graveside service was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis on Nov. 11, 2002.
