F. Plummer

Fredericka Plummer, daughter of David C. and Lizzie M. Burkhardt Preston, was born on Jan. 14, 1916, in Seymour and died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in St. John's Hospital in Springfield at the age of 86. She was a member of the Elm Branch Christian Church in Aurora. On June 24, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Plummer, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her son, John David Plummer, her parents, a sister, Ruth W. Preston, and two brothers, Donald C. and Harold Preston. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and Drury University. She taught school for one year. She worked for Farm Security Administration Universy of Missouri Extension Home Economist for 22 years. She returned to Aurora in 1979. She had lived at the Ozarks Methodist Manor since 1988. Her survivors include her two sons, Bruce F. Plummer of Dexter and Douglas D. Plummer of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; two daughters, Linda S. Range of Bowling Green and Donna R. Chilton of Lamar; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Elizabeth Love of Fairland, Okla. Memorials may be made to the Elm Branch Church in Aurora and the Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in the Elm Branch Christian Church in Aurora with Rev. Dave Martin and Rev. Jo Ann Robinson officiating. Interment followed in the Yocum Pond Cemetery in Reeds Spring under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home of Marionville.
