August Albert Green, the son of the late John Albert and Besides May Shipman Green, was born near Bloomfield on Aug. 20, 1926, and died at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Nov. 12, 2002, at the age of 76. Mr. Green lived his whole life in Bloomfield and was a charter member of the Bloomfield First Assembly of God Church. On March 19, 1949, he was married to Della Jean Robinson in Piggott, Ark. Surviving are his wife, Della Jean Green of Bloomfield; two sons, Gary Green of Poplar Bluff and Terry Green of Dexter; two daughters, Peggy Gutterman of Poplar bluff and Lora Coots of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson; one brother, Frontz Bert Green of Flushing, Mich.; two sisters, Neva Elizara Ragsdel and Selena Elsinore Fowler, both of Dexter. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifton, John Harvey and Charles Tilden Green; and four sisters, Cleo Mertle Green, Thelma Fay Green, Ruth Mae Green and Mace Alice Pruitt. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Chuck Clark of Puxico officiating and Rev. Dallas Reagan assisting. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
