Lena Fulkerson, daughter of the late Edward W. Bean and Olive Taylor Bean, was born on Feb. 8, 1911, at Sikeston and died in the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on Nov. 6, 2002, at the age of 91. Mrs. Fulkerson was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, a former employee of Elder Manufacturing in Dexter and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Claude N. Fulkerson on Dec. 1, 1928, at Benton, and Mr. Fulkerson preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1986. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and James Miller of Dexter; one brother and sister-in-law, Wallace G. and Reva Bean of Dexter; two sisters, Betty Rowland of Dexter and Ruth Kee of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Debbie Stidham, Gregg Miller and Mary Beth Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Jim Bob Scherer, Brandon Miller, Elliot Duckworth, Zanna Duckworth, Jason Stidham, Lauren Miller and Brent Stidham. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Fulkerson and Lora Bean; two brothers, Lyman and Wade Bean. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dale Grissom and Mark Stidham officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. PAID
