Elda Carlson, daughter of the late Alfred Sona and Hermine Bibus Sona, was born on Nov. 16, 1918, at St. Louis and died in the Mulberry Manor at Dexter on Nov. 6, 2002, at the age of 83. Mrs. Carlson was of the Presbyterian faith, a homemaker and a resident of Dexter. She was united in marriage to Harold Edward Carlson on July 7, 1941, at St. Louis. Mr. Carlson preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1988. Survivors include two sons, Jeff Carlson of Dexter and Gary Carlson of O'Fallon; two daughters, Jackie Gnuse of Defiance and Peggy Sells of Dexter; two brothers, Alfred Sona of Richmond Heights and Elmer Sona of Bowling Green, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Hal Carlson; one granddaughter, Brandi Carlson; three brothers; and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at the Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, in the Baue Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at St. Louis.
